\u201cChristmas Is Already Here\u201d: A warm welcome to the University of Eastern Finland Joy Choir\u2019s Christmas concert in Carelia Hall on December 8 at 7 PM \ud83c\udfb6\u2728 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concert features Christmas music from the very heart of Finnish tradition. During the evening, we\u2019ll journey from 16th-century Piae Cantiones melodies all the way to well-known Christmas songs of the 2020s.
The program includes works made famous by vocal ensembles Club For Five and Rajaton, as well as beloved Finnish classics such as The Sparrow on Christmas Morning (Varpunen jouluaamuna), To the Christmas Church (Joulukirkkoon), and the oldest known Finnish Christmas song \u2014 The Christmas Tree Is Built (Joulupuu on rakennettu). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joy Choir is one of the most distinguished mixed choirs in Eastern Finland, currently consisting of around 50 singers. The choir is conducted by Matti Makkonen from Lieksa, who has led the ensemble since autumn 2022.
The concert lasts approximately 1,5 hours (with intermission).
Our concert is supported by the City of Joensuu and Joensuun Popmuusikot ry.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
